OA Funded vs alternatives: how we stack up in 2025

Six terms decide what a prop firm is actually like to trade with. Here they are, and here is our answer to each one — in full, including the parts that do not flatter us.

There are dozens of prop firms competing for challenge fees right now. Choosing wrong isn't a disaster — you can always move to a different firm after — but it's worth spending twenty minutes comparing before paying anything.

Below are the terms that actually affect your trading and earning experience, with our own numbers against each. We deliberately do not quote other firms' figures here: we cannot verify them, they change without notice, and a stale number presented as fact is worse than no number. Take this list to whichever firms you are considering and fill in their column yourself.

Profit split

Time limit

None

Retake included

Yes

Bi-weekly

No time limit and one included retake. The retake is not free: the split drops from 80% to 60%, and on the two-step plans the daily loss limit tightens to 3% and max drawdown to 4%.

Where we lose

The long-established firms win on reputation and longevity. They have years of operating history and large trader communities, and we do not. If brand trust is what you are buying, that is a real reason to choose one of them over us.

Some firms offer larger maximum accounts than our $200,000 ceiling. If you are scaling big and want it in one account, check those.

Where we compete is on terms you can read before you pay. No time limit, one included retake with its cost stated plainly, a static 8% drawdown on the two-step plans, and every rule — consistency, news events, prohibited strategies — published in full rather than surfaced at payout time.
