OA Funded News Trading Rules
Do not open new positions within five minutes before or after scheduled high-impact news. This applies during evaluations and on funded accounts. Positions opened before the buffer may remain open.
High-impact news window
No new position may be opened in the five minutes before or five minutes after a scheduled high-impact (red-folder) news event. Positions opened before the restricted window may remain open. The restriction applies to every evaluation stage and to funded accounts on both plans. Violations are a hard breach.
Check the event calendar and platform server time before trading. The public FAQ does not identify a single calendar provider or reset timezone. Ask support to confirm which feed and server clock govern your account rather than assuming your local clock is the reference.
Example: event at 13:30
| Action | Interpretation |
|---|---|
| Open a new position at 13:27 | Inside the prohibited window |
| Hold a position opened at 13:20 | May remain open under the stated news rule |
| Open a new position after 13:35 | Outside the buffer, subject to other rules |
Avoid timezone assumptions
Verify the calendar and platform clock. Maintain a buffer around the exact boundary rather than relying on a rounded local timestamp. News volatility can still breach loss limits on a permitted held position.
